World Peace & Prayer Day 6/21/ - 6/24/2012

June 21st, 22, 23 & 24 Blue Star Equiculture will be holding a gathering for people wanting to honor Chief Arvol Lookinghorse's World Peace and Prayer Day. June 21st we will light a fire and Pray for Peace. Troy Phillips of the Nipmuck Nation will host the event by the Peace Pole planted by Arvol in 2010 at the meeting of the Swift and Ware Rivers on Burgundy Brook Farm in Palmer Mass.

All are welcome, we encourage people of different faiths to come together and say a Prayer for Peace on this powerful Solstice Day. Arvol declared the spot with the Peace Pole planted a Sacred Site that should be honored and used for this Prayer.

World Peace and Prayer Day was founded in 1996 in the Black Hills of South Dakota by Chief Arvol Looking Horse, 19th generation keeper of the sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe of the Sioux Nation. Arvol Looking Horse was led by a vision to honor sacred sites and to invite all nations and all faiths to do the same, to heal our relationship with our mother, the Earth. World Peace and Prayer Day is held annually on the summer solstice, a powerful day to pray for peace among all living beings.

We will open the event with a sacred fire ceremony. Bring your drums, rattles, songs and music and join us for a weekend filled with prayers, circle talks, kayaking ,tubing down the Swift River, swimming, sacred site awareness, and connection with Mother Earth. Come learn about and meet the Blue Star Horses and the magnificent farm and people who live here! This is a pot-luck event so please bring something to share for each day you plan to attend!

The sacred fire will be lit at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21 and will burn continually through Sunday. The Paddle down the Swift River will commence at noon on Saturday. Other times for activities TBA ASAP!
