Sponsor a Horse - Have a Special Relationship

Sponsoring A Blue Star Equiculture Horse will bring you tremendous joy.

Remember how when you were a kid you wanted a horse of your very own?

Somewhere along the line, maybe that dream got pushed to the side by grown up responsibilities and grown up realizations of the commitment that owning a horse entails.  Still, you're love of the Horse - of all horses - has never faded.  And here are these magnificent horses at Blue Star Equiculture who count on the support of people like you for their care and well-being.

You can easily commit to making your contribution to the entire herd through our "Join the Herd" program.  But maybe there's a certain horse you're particularly drawn to.   Whether because of their personality, their life history, their fundamental essence , there is a spark of connection between you two.  That connection can happen in person at the farm or during one of our events, or it can happen long distance, through the flicker of connection with the pixels of a digital image.  This connection is real, and it can be valued through sponsorship of a special horse.

To the left, you will see are sponsorship levels and corresponding benefits, but every level of sponsorship has the intangible benefit of connection with another living being whose existence you are nourishing and enriching.  Below are pictures of the horses in need of your sponsorship and friendship.  Each photo is accompanied by a brief blurb about the horse; more detailed profiles can be found in our "Resident Horses" section of our website.  Just click the SPONSOR link of your favorite horse to sponsor.  You're just a click away from making a huge difference to homeless working horses.

Bob

BobBob came to Blue Star with his half brother Billy in June of 2011, making them the youngest sibling pair on the farm (and the biggest), along with Kelly and Daisy, and Duchess and Chyna. Bob is around 6, the older of the two, and the more outgoing. When he arrived he was underfed and shy, but Bob warmed up more quickly than Billy and is proving to be one of the friendliest boys on the farm. Read More About Bob...

Henny Penny

Henny PennySPONSOR HENNY PENNY

One of the first things people notice about Henny, aside from her dashing good looks and her perrenial mustache, is the brand on her left hip. Henny arrived at Blue Star February of 2011, after her former owner could no longer care for her, but the brand suggests that she grew up as a PMU mare. Premarin is a hormone therapy drug that was discontinued when their abusive practices, keeping pregnant mares in straight stalls with no turnout to harvest their urine, were exposed... More about Henny Penny...
