1980 registered white dun Norwegian Fjord Horse mare
Milli and her friend Kai came to Blue Star Equiculture when her owner, who had suffered an accident, was no longer able to take care of them. This man ran a private Fjord Horse rescue in Northampton and had taken in many unwanted Fjords over the years. When he had his accident and was paralyzed, he was able to rehome all of the other horses except for Kai and Milli. Kai and Milli came to the farm in November 2010.
Milli was born in 1980 in Norway and is one of the rarer colors of Fjord horses. Most Fjords are brown dun, like Kai, but about 10 % come in one of four other colors: red dun, grey dun, white dun and yellow dun. Milli is a white dun. She was imported into the United States in 1988.
Milli is quite fat and has some thyroid issues, and may have foundered in the past. She was quite overwhelmed with her move to Blue Star when she first arrived, but has since settled in to the routine of farm life, and likes the riding ring and Birdcage Paddock the best. She is less social than Kai, but is quite devoted to him. Milli, while somewhat shy around the other horses, loves people and is very friendly and sweet.
Milli and Kai hate being inside, having spent their years in Northampton with only a run-in shelter that they never used.
